I would love for my work to be seen as a profound reflection of man’s relationship with life and human creativity, facilitating an intimate process of communication with self and the world we build around us.

 

Shortly after passing out of Film & Television Institute of India, Dev found work as a cinematographer, working on travel documentaries which took him to different countries in south east Asia and various locations abroad. These projects captured the culture and vibrancy of these amazing cities. Dev’s personal documentaries like Unheard Voices and notes to myself captured the plight of the Tibetan refugee. This film was screened at various film festivals. 

 

Dev continued his cinematographic and directorial work in documentaries which are reflections of our society. Dev’s documentary Moved by love was on the plight of helpless donkeys was screened at Cannes court metrage. 

 

As a cinematographer, Dev shot the epic Nigerian historical Drama ‘Invasion 1897’. The film tells the story, little known in the West, of the invasion of the West African Kingdom of Benin. He is best known for his films like Citylights which was an official remake of BAFTA nominated film "Metro Manila". He is known for his stark images, capturing the energy of the characters with an unforced realism. Dev had shot feature films, documentaries and numerous advertising, corporate and short films.

WE AMPLIFY STORIES WORTH TELLING All of us at Purple haze started our lives from different parts of this planet. We followed non-traditional paths, very different from each other. However, our pursuit was the same. We all were heading towards the same goal. We do things differently. We are a team of storytellers, creatives, directors, photographers, strategists, editors and producers. We don't call ourselves an agency. We are more than that.

We dream because we believe every great idea is embedded in a dream. And then we communicate our dreams. Our dreams morph into intelligent and entertaining content and we deliver it in an engaging and compelling form.

We gathered our strength in achieving this during our journey towards Purple Haze. From Film school to Business school, each of us through our experience brings specialized skills in film direction, cinematography, performance, media & communications technologies and project management.

Collectively we have worked on a variety of projects and genre with leading filmmakers and brands and wish to apply our collective force to create awe inspiring content... This is just a first step towards a larger goal.
